Smoke alarms
Confirm alarms inside each bedroom, outside each separate sleeping area and on every level, including the basement. Test monthly and replace at ten years.
Carbon monoxide alarms
Confirm CO protection on each level and outside sleeping areas. For covered Colorado homes, verify an operational alarm within 15 feet of each lawful sleeping-room entrance or in the location required by adopted code.
Dates and power
Read each date label, confirm backup power and record the model. Follow manufacturer instructions for replacement intervals and mounting.
